Fairfax, VA       Mr. Roy August Metzler (83) died on February 22, 2011 at the Fairfax Nursing Center, Fairfax, Virginia. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Succasunna for 42 years before moving to Fairfax, 7 months ago. He served in the U S Air Force as a radar specialist during WW II.  He then worked for Bell Laboratories for 42 years as an industrial photographer, and retired in December, 1986. He was a member of the American Legion and Telephone Pioneers. 

Mr. Metzler is survived by his wife Helen (Meiser) of  59 years, son William (and Karen) Metzler of Fairfax, Virginia,  6 grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Billy, Brandon, Christine, Kyle and 2 nieces, Diane Limitone, and Patty Cullen.

Friends may visit the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, NJ (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com, on Friday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9  pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, 10 am, at the Funeral Home with the entombment and Military Honors at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
