Lancaster, PA, Mr. Roger Patrick McGowan, 85, died on November 4, 2012 at the Hospice & Community Care Center in Mt. Joy, PA. He was born in Staten Island and grew up in Flanders. He lived in Hopatcong most of his life before moving to Lancaster 7 years ago. He served in the U S Navy during WW II, and was the owner of M & M Electronics in Hopatcong for more than 30 years. After his retirement he worked in the audio visual department at the County College of Morris for 12 years. He loved playing golf, traveling, gardening, woodworking, and playing the piano.

He is survived by his wife Barbara M (McKenna) McGowan of 63 years, 7 children; Marlene, Eileen, Kevin, Barbara, Cynthia, Scott, and Matthew. He also leaves his 12 grandchildren; Shannon, Mary, Brett, Brooke, Laura, Kaitlin, Vincent, Sarah, Ryan, Nicole, Ashley, and Emily, 13.5 great grandchildren; McKenna, Audrey, Kelly, Noah, Jonah, Rose, Lily, Kaitlin, Eric, Reese, Tess, June, Caden, and one on the way, and by his sister Margaret Carmean.

Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10 am, at the funeral home, with the interment to follow at the Stanhope Union Cemetery.
