Richard M Salim

Richard M Salim, 59, of Landing died on September 9, 2025. He was born in Watertown, SD and grew up in Englewood, NJ before moving to Flanders and later settling in Landing. Before retiring, he served as a Corrections Officer and later as a Sheriff’s Officer for the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department. Following retirement, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University. He was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna where he also served faithfully as a deacon. He was a life member, past chapter president, and past national president of the Renegade Pigs, a law enforcement motorcycle club. He enjoyed collecting pop culture memorabilia, spending time with family and close friends, and riding his Harley Davidson with his motorcycle club brothers.

Richard was preceded in death by his father the Rev. Raymond E. Salim.  He is survived by his mother Ragnhild; brother John (Lisa), and sister Jennifer (Richard); nieces & nephews Samantha, Alexis, Travis, Jakob & Aubrey. He leaves behind cherished friends Brian and Denise and their daughters, Lily and Madeline, and countless extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church (Succasunna, NJ), Renegade Pigs Motorcycle Club-North Jersey Chapter, and St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Friends and family may visit at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, 973-584-7264 on Friday, September 19th, from 4-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna.
