Mt. Olive Township,    Mr. Robert Stephen Romaine, 86, died on September 3, 2011. He was born in Morristown and lived most all of his life in Dover before moving to Spray Beach in Long Beach Island, in 1993. He served in the US Army during WWII in the 20^th Tank Battalion Armored Division and earned the Bronze Star. For more than 40 years he was a union carpenter in Local #620, Madison before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Sacred Heart R C Church and Knights of Columbus in Dover and as a young man, was a member of the Dover Cadets.

He was predeceased by his wife F. Eleanor (Franke) Romaine in 2005 and is survived by his 7 children; Kathleen Drury of PA, Mary Ellen Cummings of Little Egg Harbor, Carol McKenna of Rockaway, Steve Romaine of Vernon, Harry Romaine of VA, Ann Walker of Succasunna, and Joan Del Vecchio of Ledgewood. He also leaves his 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart R C Church in Dover.
