Peter Lawrence Gill

Mansfield Twp, Mr. Peter Lawrence Gill, 70, died on October 21, 2012 at home. He was born in Morristown and grew up in Union Hill section of Denville. He also lived in Flanders and then Schooley’s Mountain before moving to Mansfield Twp. 15 years ago. He earned his B S in Biology from Moravian College and did his post graduate work in microbiology at Ohio State University. He served in the U S Navy during the Viet Nam War Era. He was an accomplished inventor and entrepreneur as well as the president of Lawrence Peter Systems in Hackettstown, NJ. Over the course of his life, he held 13 patents, 17 Intellectual Properties, and was a member of Who’s Who of American Businesses from 1984-1987. As active congregational member of the Central Moravian Church, He held the position of Sextant.  He was also the Chaplain of the Harmony Lodge #8 Free and Accepted Masons.

He is survived by his former wife Joyce Gill-Winnie of Shallotte, NC, sons; Timothy (and Lauri) Gill of Sparta and James (and Jeanne) Gill of East Brunswick, and 4 grandchildren; Jessica, Jason, Tyler, and Zachary.
 
Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Friday from 4 – 8 pm.  His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, 2 pm, at the Central Moravian Church’s Chapel building in Bethlehem, PA.
