Paul J Reimels, Jr

Paul John Reimels, Jr., 79, of Stillwater, New Jersey, passed away in Roxbury Township on May 25, 2026.

Paul was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Wallington, New Jersey, where he was raised on his family’s farm. From a young age, he worked the land and spent time helping his father, including taking trips with him to the market. Those early years shaped Paul’s strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and appreciation for simple, honest work.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam Era. During his service, he was stationed in Alaska, a place he loved and remembered fondly throughout his life.

In 1974, Paul moved to a horse farm in Lafayette, New Jersey, where he enjoyed horseback riding and the peaceful country life. For many years, he owned and operated Reimels Auto Body in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, where he worked in auto body restoration.

Paul had a lifelong passion for classic cars, especially Corvettes, GTOs, and other American classics. He took great pride in restoring cars and appreciated the craftsmanship, history, and character behind them. He also loved hunting, spending time with friends, and being with his family.

Paul was loved by many and was known for always having a good time. He enjoyed being around people, sharing stories, laughing with friends and family, and making the most of the moments he had with those he cared about. Above all, he loved his grandchildren and treasured the time he spent with them.

Paul is survived by his two sons, Paul J. Reimels III and his wife, Jennifer Reimels, of Waldwick, and their children, Paul Reimels, Aiden Reimels, and Luke Reimels; and Scott Reimels and his wife, Heather Reimels, of Branchville, and their daughter, Juliette Reimels. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan Chastek and Kathy Gourley; and his nieces, Robin Ganley and Nicole Chastek. He was predeceased by his niece, Tina Soto.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs in honor of Paul’s service to his country.
