Roxbury Township, Patricia Jackowski, 90, peacefully passed away on August 29, 2025 in Succasunna, NJ. She was born in Luzerne, PA and lived there until she married her high school sweetheart, Donald. She moved to New Jersey in 1958 and lived in Mine Hill for more than 60 years, before moving to Roxbury Township two years ago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from College Misericordia in Dallas, PA in 1956. For many years, she worked at Dover General Hospital in the medical records department, retiring from the position of Medical Records Coder. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, cooking, baking, sewing, listening to and watching birds, going to church, as well as reading. Her love of books inspired her 30 years of community service at the Mine Hill Library where she volunteered her time with a group of friends known as “The Library Ladies”. She was a lifelong member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald J. Jackowski in 1988, and is survived by her 5 daughters; Louise Carter (Stephen), Karen Jackowski, Diane Jackowski, Elaine Jackowski, and Michele Maikisch (Brian), 6 grandchildren; Megan Orfield, Brian Carter, Kristen Gleckler, Tracy Loftis, Evan Maikisch and Zachary Maikisch, and 7 great grandchildren; Juliana Orfield, Annabelle Orfield, Matthew Loftis, Abigail Loftis, Jackson Loftis, JohnAnthony Barrera and Jiovanni Barrera.
Friends and family may visit at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, 973-584-7264 on Tuesday, September 2nd, from 3 – 7 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd at 10 am at St. Therese R.C. Church in Succasunna, NJ followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
