Roxbury Township, Mrs. Norma Claire Jones, 90, died on June 16, 2026, of heart failure, unexpectedly at her home. She passed peacefully in her own bed with her son by her side.  She was born and raised in Bellrose, Queens, NY and was a retired School Teacher for the Queens, NY, Public School System.  In later years, she also became a Para-Legal, a Home Health Care Aide and Office Manager for Cigna.  She earned her master’s degree in education from Shelton College in Ringwood, New Jersey. She, her husband and oldest son moved to Succasunna in 1964. She attended both Grace Church in Randolph and Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church in Succasunna, and enjoyed socializing with friends at both churches, as well as being active at the Roxbury Senior Center Ever Young program and the HARP program at Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward L Jones, Jr., in 1996, as well as her sons, Douglas Edward and Donald Walter in 2016. She is survived by her children; Debra Ellen Wood and David Ewald Jones, and she also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jake Michael and Jessica Lauren Wood.

Friends may visit at the Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church on Hillside Avenue, on Saturday June 27th from 10 – 11 am, her service will be held at 11 am in the Church, followed by a reception and lunch at the Church Fellowship Hall. Her interment will take place at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, at a later date.
