Dover, NJ. Mrs. Maria June Tambini, 88, died on February 16, 2021 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. She was born and raised in Queens, NY and lived in Succasunna before moving to Dover over thirty years ago. She was very proud to have been a school bus driver for the Roxbury Board of Education in Succasunna. When she was younger, Maria was executive secretary to the admiral at the Brooklyn base of the United States Navy. Later, Maria briefly co-owned a restaurant in Morristown. She finally retired after many years of self-employment, working in her own housekeeping business.

Maria was an avid health and fitness enthusiast. She began doing aerobics in the 1980s and continued exercising throughout her life. She was a member of the Randolph YMCA, and especially enjoyed their aquatics classes. Maria was also a Leader with Weight Trimmers in Mine Hill for many years. Maria’s positive impact on those who took her classes is felt to this day, as can be seen by the number of people who became good friends and stayed in touch over the years.

Maria was also an active member of the Dover community, regularly attending Town meetings, as well as an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Dover, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Maria was also President of the Dover Towne Center Condominium Association.

Maria was generous and selfless, and always put the needs of others above her own. She always strove to help wherever help was needed and never asked for anything in return. Maria’s strength and spirit will never be forgotten by those who were lucky enough to know her. Everything she did came from love. Her family were her friends and her friends were her family. Her memory will live in all who knew her and she will live through us.

She is survived by her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
