Louis M Cautero

Hopatcong, NJ  Mr. Louis M Cautero (Poppy), 88, died on July 23, 2021 at the Andover Nursing Home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY where he worked in his Father’s restaurant until he was called to serve in the U S ARMY from 1952 – 1955. After his military service he worked as a truck driver delivering Pabst Blue Ribbon and Rheingold Beer, he also worked for Pan American Airlines. He moved to the Landing area of NJ in 1965 with his wife and two sons. He worked at Picatinny Arsenal, and was a member of the Labor Union in NJ. He was a self employed contractor in Hopatcong for many years. He enjoyed vacationing in Florida, and Wildwood, NJ. He was a lifelong Yankee Fan and took his son to Game 3 of the 1978 World Series and his sons and their friends to the 1976 opening day at the rebuilt Yankee Stadium.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Lorenza Cautero (Nana) in 2009, and is survived by his sons; Vincent L. Cautero (and Jane) of Hopatcong, and Louis M Cautero (and Kathleen) of Succasunna, and his grandchildren. He was the youngest of six siblings.
