Roxbury Township, Miss Lorrayne Ribe, 75, of Succasunna, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2018 after a long battle from her childhood with type 1 diabetes.
She was born to the late Olga and Olav Ribe, September 19, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. Lorrayne moved to Succasunna at the age of 6. She is survived by her two sisters, Diane Jacobus of Kettering, Ohio and Marlene Jacobus and brother-in-law Arlyn Jacobus of Hebron, Indiana, her nephews and nieces: Brent Jacobus, Crown Point, IN, Alicyn Amann, Castle Rock, CO, Dwayne Jacobus, Florence, South Carolina, Darren Jacobus, Springboro, Ohio, Danielle Bolich, Flanders, NJ, many grandnieces and nephews.
Lorrayne attended Roxbury Schools and graduated from Kings College, New York. She was a realtor and Manager for Schlott for many years and a broker for 7 years. She was very successful in real estate and retired at the age of 48. She is known for her astute business sense and her sweet loving spirit. She loved to crochet tablecloths, afghans and doilies and gifted many friends and family with her beautiful creations. She also loved traveling, gardening and her pet poodles. Above all, Lorrayne loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and was an active member of Hillside Church where she served as a deaconess. The church was organized in the basement of the Ribe home when she was a child. To know Lorrayne was to love her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Lorrayne never complained about her pain and illness throughout her life. She will be forever loved and remembered by her sisters and nephews and nieces and dear friends.
Instead of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hillside Church, Lutheran Brethren International Missions, Hillcreast Academy or Roxbury Ambulance Association.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 4 – 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, 10 am, at the Hillside Church, 113 S Hillside Ave, Succasunna, with the interment to follow at the Restland Memorial Cemetery, East Hanover.
