Washington Township, Mrs. Laura Edna Freund, 97, died on Saturday April 21, 2012 at Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ. She was born in Bowlbyville, part of Dover, and lived in Succasunna for 72 years before moving to Heath Village in 2004. She was predeceased by her husband Otto V. Freund, Sr. in 1978 and is survived by her two sons; Otto V. Freund, Jr. (and Eileen) of FL, and Peter A. Freund, Sr. (and Mary Ann) of Succasunna, 5 grandchildren; Otto V. Freund, III (and Kelly) of Succasunna, Tamela Spitzer (and Greg) of GA, Lisa Connors of FL, Peter A. Freund, Jr. (and Melissa) of Andover, and David G. Freund of Succasunna, nine great-grandchildren; Ryleigh, Jack, Brynn, Ben, Sam, Ali, Kayla, Brooke, and Matthew, Brother -in-law Clifford Freund (and Audrey), Sisters-in-law Jane, Marie, and Joanne Freund, and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Laura was a wonderfully warm, kind, giving, and loving person who will be sadly missed by all of those whose lives she touched. Laura’s family thanks the kind individuals at Heath Village who cared lovingly for her during her period of declining health.

Laura had requested no viewings or memorial services, and her family is respecting her wishes. Memorial contributions may be made in Laura’s name to either the Deacon’s Fund of the First Presbyterian church, 99 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 07876, or to the Employee’s Appreciation Fund, 152 Heath Village, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
