Well, the universe just got a little less sparkly because of our beloved Katie. Katie decided to trade in her earthly digs for a celestial condo. Kathleen D. Looney (Katie), 61 born September 21, 1963, from Roxbury Township, passed suddenly on Saturday April 5, 2025. Katie is predeceased by her mother Judith A Looney (Flood) and Father William V Looney. She is survived by her sisters Judy (Ralph) Maureen (Glenn) Peggy (Dan) Eileen (Chris) Erin (Glenn) and brother Bill. The bond she shared with her family was strong and a constant source of strength and comfort throughout her life.
But fear not, for Katie’s love extended far beyond her siblings, she treated her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews like her own personal brood of adorable, albeit occasionally sticky, babies. Katie also loved all animals and always carried dog treats in her car.
Katie’s kindness extended far beyond her immediate family. She possessed a remarkable ability to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was lending an ear, providing words of encouragement, or offering practical assistance, Katie was always there, selflessly giving her time and energy to others. She left an undeniable mark on the lives of those she touched.
Katie was a social butterfly of the highest order, a veritable friend magnet with a wingspan that encompassed the entire human population. She didn’t just “make friends,” she collected them. In Katie’s world, there were no strangers, only pre-friends, patiently waiting for the inevitable moment when she would swoop in and declare them part of her ever-growing, wonderfully chaotic, and occasionally bewildered entourage.
And let’s not forget those legendary chocolate chip cookies – they were less a dessert and more a love language. These treats were not just a source of deliciousness, but a symbol of her love and care. She delighted in baking them for her loved ones, and the aroma of freshly baked cookies will forever be a cherished memory.
So, while we are mourning her absence, let’s also remember the laughter she spread like confetti and the sheer, unadulterated joy she brought to every family gathering. Heaven better brace itself; Katie’s bringing the party and probably a secret stash of chocolate chips, homemade stuffed shells, and baked ziti.
Katie was the heart of our family, her love was unconditional, and her laughter was infectious. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. We will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Katie’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Details will be announced as they become available.
Katie’s legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
