Joseph Franklin Scarbrough Jr. age 80,  of West Orange, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2020.  Originally from Hoboken Joseph spent most of his years in West Orange where he was a devoted husband and father.  He spent years racing cars and was affectionately referred to as “Gentleman Joe”.  Joe loved watching his son race cars and his daughter play sports.  He coached several teams and touched the lives of many of the adults and children he worked with.  The most important thing to Joseph was his family and he was always there to help everyone, at any hour and for any reason.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia, his son Joseph and daughter in law Isella, his daughter Christina and son in law Frank, his 3 grandsons Frankie, John and Ben and countless adoring nieces, nephews and cousins.

 For years Joseph volunteered to buy and deliver gifts for the holidays for the children in Matheny School, and recruited many others to do the same.  At this time, no arrangements are made but donations can be made, in his name to Matheny School through Matheny.org.
