Mt. Arlington, NJ Mr. John G Blechar, 78, died on May 11, 2025 at his home. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ and lived in Livingston before moving to Mt. Arlington 8 months ago. He was a retired pharmacist who earned his degree in 1969 with a BPharm and BS degree from Rutgers University. John loved his cigars and bourbon and could often be found at JR Cigars in Whippany or in his later years out on his deck reading his kindle while enjoy the two. After retirement John developed a love for cooking and could often be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes for his daughter and wife to try. John may not have been the easiest person to get along with but he loved his wife Kathy and daughter Jessica with all his heart. Every night you could find John and Kathy watching Jeopardy and he would know the answers to the hardest questions. His family always said he should go on as a contestant. John overcame so many challenges in his life and now can rest peacefully with his wife by his side.
He was predeceased by his wife April 27, 2025 and is survived by his daughter Jessica Lindsey Blechar of Mt. Arlington. He also leaves his sisters Judy (and Jim) Peters and Vicki (and Tony) Delmont, his brother in law Kevin (and Debbie) Price of Fl, sister in law; Doreen (and Steve) Sabella of NJ and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John S. Blechar, in 1980, his mother Helen Blechar, in 2011 and his brother Fred Blechar in 1989.

The funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 16th, at 10 am, at St. Therese R C Church, Succasunna.
