Johanna K. Haig, 94, died on July 19, 2017, at the Paragon Village in Mt. Olive Township, NJ. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Ridgewood, NY, Richmond Hill, NY, and Melbourne, FL before moving to Flanders, NJ in 1997.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert J. Haig in 2001 and is survived by her daughter Joanne Johnstone of Washington, NJ and her son Robert and daughter-in-law Susan Haig of Westport, MA. She also leaves her 4 grandchildren; Keith Haig, Matthew Casse and his wife Colleen, Scott Haig and his wife Laurie and Maryellen Jagusak and her husband Matthew; 7 great grandchildren; Charlotte, Lily, Ryan, Robert, Ella, Catherine, and Matthew; her sister Madeline Horvath and husband, Louis Horvath and their children Alan, Lynn, Dennis and his wife Olga and daughter Hailey.
Johanna was a homemaker and loved to knit and crochet. She was famous for her pies (lemon meringue, chocolate cream and banana cream), cupcakes and pot roast. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R C Church in Flanders. Johanna will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, sweet personality and love of family.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna NJ, 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Saturday from 9 – 10:30 am. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, 11 am, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R C Church in Flanders. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association at ALZ.ORG
