James G Vadas

Roxbury Township,    Mr. James George Vadas, 39, died on May 14, 2011 at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a courageous 7 year battle with gastric cancer, demonstrating his strength and love for his family and friends.  He was born in Livingston and grew up in Roxbury Township. He lived in Randolph before moving back to Succasunna 2 years ago. He was a 1990 graduate of Roxbury High School and earned his BS in exercise physiology from Montclair State with a minor in mathematics and physics. He loved playing soccer for as long as he could, playing in High School and several men’s leagues in Morris County and, playing men’s tennis in the Randolph League. He was a mechanical engineer at ASCO – Automatic Switch Company in Florham Park.

He is survived by his wife Debbie (Hirsch) of 13 years, daughter Isabella and son Alexander. He also leaves his parents George and Carolyn Vadas of Ledgewood, maternal grandmother Alice Holden of Mendham, sisters; Christine (and Robert) Cooper of Byram Twp and Cheryl (and Michael) Campbell of Denville, brother Timothy (and Christine) Vadas of CT, 3 nieces and 3 nephews, in-laws Barry and Judy Hirsch of Livingston, and sister-in-law Stephanie (and Col. Gregory) Gillette of Tel Aviv, Israel.

Friends may visit the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, NJ (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com, on Tuesday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm. The service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the Funeral Home, with the interment service to follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover.
