Roxbury Township, Mrs. Irene Rosko, 96, devoted wife, mother and aunt, passed away on November 21, 2024 at the Excel Care Center in Dover, NJ. She was born and raised in The Bronx, NY and lived in Fair Lawn, Greenwood Lake, and West Milford, before moving to Ledgewood 8 years ago. She was a retired Executive Secretary for the American Can Company in Fair Lawn, NJ. Always career minded and a sharp dresser. She was also a former member of St. Paul’s Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Church in The Bronx, NY and the Forever Young Seniors in Succasunna, NJ. She enjoyed spending time with family at her home in Greenwood Lake on weekends swimming and barbequing. She was known as a member of the “Golden Girls” spending time with her sisters Betty, Sue and her cousin Florence (now all deceased) traveling, cruising, playing card games or just having a happy hour together.
She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Rosko in 1982, and is survived by her 2 daughters; Roxanne Wintjen of Flanders and Joan Rosko of Leesburg, FL. She also leaves her nieces and nephews John Rosko, Linda Rubenstein, Bruce Aguiar, Karen Sheehan, Rosemary Fetzko (deceased) and Stephen Rosko Jr. and many great nieces and nephews plus great great nieces and nephews. Plus many other family members and close friends too numberous to mention. She was loved by all.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, N.J. (973-584-7264) on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 from 2 – 6 pm, with her Funeral Service at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers make a donation to dementia research.
