Roxbury Township, Mrs. Irene Barbara Byrne, 70, died on February 13, 2014 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Vernon, CT before moving to Ledgewood 43 years ago. She was a retired Executive Assistant at A T & T in Morristown for many years. She was also a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna, the Roxbury Township Senior Citizens Club, and enjoyed traveling.

She was predeceased by her husband John Byrne, Jr. in 2002 and is survived by her son Stephen Byrne of Ledgewood, daughter Kristine (and Tom) Porfiris and 2 grandchildren; Zachary and Alexandra, all of N.C, brother Alf Alver of CT, sister-in-law Carol Alver of CT, 2 nephews and neice, great nieces and nephews, and many good friends.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Monday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 10 am, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with the interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
