Roxbury Township, Mrs. Helen Naughton, 84, died peacefully at her home on February 17, 201. She was a resident of Succasunna for the past 50 years.
Helen was born and raised in Dunmore, PA, and was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hafick) Huda. She retired in 1994 from Tiffany and Company where she worked as a packer at their Parsippany Distribution Center.
Helen was a terrific cook. She had many specialties, but no one in the world could beat her holubki (stuffed cabbage). Just ask Jimmy and Ronnie. She enjoyed trips to the casinos and traveling throughout the country to attend her husband’s Navy Reunions. She was a member St. Nicholas Orthodox Greek Catholic Church in Scranton, Pa, St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna and of the Ever Young Seniors of Roxbury Township.
She is survived by her cherished husband Paul T Naughton (61 years), and beloved daughter Jane Marie Naughton. They were her everything. The three of them were an inseparable team. She is also survived by her loving sister, Madelyn (and Dominick) Esgro of Moscow, PA, sister-in-laws Margaret Huda of Dunmore, PA, and Ann Webb of Pittston, PA, brother-in-law Robert Bonczek of Scranton, PA, brother and sister-in-law Frank and Alice Naughton of Scranton, Pa, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Helen was predeceased by 3 sisters, Mary Kereczman, Kathryn Derenick and Emma Bonczek and 2 brothers, Michael and Andrew Huda.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 3 – 9 pm, Parastas Services will be held at 8 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, 10 am, at St. Therese R C Church with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
