Gloria E. Hartmann, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the age of 95.  At the time she called Mt. Arlington Senior Living in Mt. Arlington, NJ home.

Gloria was born March 25, 1924 in Weehawken.  She was the daughter of the late Olga (Moe) Swanson and William Swanson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband John A. Hartmann in 1986 and her younger brother William and sister, Ardley Swanson.

She lived in Jersey City, North Bergen and Nutley before moving to Mt Arlington 8 years ago. She was employed as a clerical worker at the Seaboard Finance Company in New York City many years ago.

Devout in her faith, Gloria was a former member of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Bergen and was currently a member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lyndhurst.

She is survived by 2 dedicated sons; John W. Hartmann and his wife Susan (Snyder) Hartmann of Whippany and Thomas E. Hartmann and his wife Paula (Keating) Hartmann of Succasunna.  She also leaves 5 grandchildren Shawn, Corey, Kathryn, Andrew, and Christine and 7 great grandchildren Gabby, Ryan, Nicholas, Paige, Casey, Kristyn and Dylan.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ.   (973) 584-7264, on Thursday, January 30, from 10 am – 12 pm, with an 11 am Prayer Service.  The private entombment will be at the Mt Hebron Cemetery in Upper Montclair.
