Roxbury Township, Mrs. Dorothy May Doublosky, 92, died on June 5, 2023, at her home. She was born in Morristown and lived in Succasunna most all of her life. She was a homemaker and active member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church where she also helped with the church Thrift Store. Before she became a homemaker she was a secretary at Picatinny Arsenal. She loved doing crafts and craft painting. Some of her favorite crafts were making cards and ornaments. She would sell them at craft shows, and Olde Suckasunny Day, which she participated in for many years.
She was very creative and loved making personalized crafts for friends and family. She was an avid baker and would supply her whole family with delicious cookies for the entirety of the holiday season.
Dorothy had a love for rooster decor, which she showcased throughout her home.
She loved her family and, would happily babysit her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever given the opportunity.
She was known for her generosity and kindness and, will be sorely missed by friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband (of 59 years) William Doublosky, Sr. in 2013, and her son-in-law Karl Burkhardt, Sr. in 2012. She is survived by her 3 children: Terri L Burkhardt of Landing, Stan (and Cheryl) Doublosky and William, Jr. (and Karen) Doublosky, both of PA. She also leaves her 6 grandchildren: Kandice, Kristy and Karl Burkhardt, Christopher, Jason, and Carly Doublosky, 3 great grandchildren: Lily, Luis, and Aurora, and her sister Shirley Dykes of Landing.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ (973)-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday (June 23rd) from 4-7 pm. The Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, (June 24th) 10 am, at the Succasunna Methodist Cemetery.
