Roxbury Township, Mr. Dennis S Cater, 64, died on April 8, 2014 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. He was born in Dover and grew up in Roxbury Township. He was a 1968 graduate of Roxbury High School and then served in the U S Army during the Viet Nam War. He then moved to Mt. Holly, South Carolina where he was a Supervisor of Corrections for the B B T Bank. He then returned to Succasunna 7 years ago. He was an Exempt Member of the Roxbury Fire Company #1 and enjoyed camping, being outdoors, and NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his former wife Lisa Cater of N. C., brother Jim (and Anita) Cater with whom he lived in Succasunna, several nieces and nephews, and family dog Sweetpea. He was predeceased by his brother William E Cater in 2002 and by his sister-in-law Helen Cater in 2007.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 4 – 8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 10 am at the Funeral Home with the interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester. Donations may be made in his name to the Roxbury Fire Co. #1 or to the Roxbury Rescue Squad.
