Fredon, NJ. Mr. Dennis G Haggerty, 70, died on September 6, 2025 at the Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Ruislip, England and came to Succasunna at 1 year old. He was a 1972 graduate of Roxbury High School and was a diesel mechanic for the Sussex County Road Department. He grew up in Succasunna then lived in Newton for 30 years and later moved to Fredon Twp 16 years ago.
He was predeceased by his father, Gordon Haggerty. He is survived by his wife Sherry Ellen (Chiani) Haggerty of 51 years, by his daughter Tiffany White (husband Damien), son Jason Haggerty (wife Julie), Mother Violet May Haggerty of Ledgewood, 2 grandchildren Brody & Mason White, his brother’s Steve and Mike Haggerty, his Uncle George, Aunt Pat, many nieces, a nephew, and several cousins, his two best friends Toni Rocco and Larry Rogoff.
He loved playing football and baseball with his most prized possessions, Brody and Mason. Farming was his passion in life. His farm friends became his family, especially Pete Baltjes, Casey Scholier, Harry Mack and Mike Decker.
He was a member of The Sons of the American Legion. Also, a member of the Newton Fire Department.
Friends and family may visit at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, 973-584-7264 on Thursday, September 11th, from 3 – 7 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 12th at 11 am at the Funeral Home, followed by interment at the Succasunna Methodist Cemetery.
