Charles Parinello, Sr.

Lake Hiawatha, Mr. Charles Parinello, Sr., passed away on June 20th, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown. He was 77 years old. Charlie was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and grew up in Chatham, New Jersey. He graduated from Chatham High School in 1958.  In 1966 he moved to Lake Hiawatha. Charlie earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1962 and then earned his Master of Arts Degree in 1971, both from Montclair State College. Charlie was an Industrial Arts teacher at Elmwood Park Memorial High School for 34 years. He was well respected by his colleagues and students. He took pride in being an educator.

At a young age Charlie developed a love for cars. He owned a 32 Ford which he rebuilt twice. He was a lifetime member of The North Jersey Street Rod Association, also serving as their president for a few years. He was also involved for years with their Father’s Day Charity Rod Run which is a yearly benefit for sick children. He enjoyed many picnics, rod runs, car shows, cruise nights and good people with that 32 Ford.

Charlie loved to drive both cars and motorcycles. He drove cross country many times during his summers and always came back with many pictures and stories to tell. Charlie had a passion for racing and on many a weekend could be found at the drags in his orange 1971 Chevy Nova. Charlie was a good man, he is loved very much and missed every day.

Charlie was predeceased by his mother; Lorraine (nee Franciosi) Parinello, and his father; Harry Parinello.He is survived by his daughter; Nadine Parinello of Succasunna, NJ, his son; Charles Parinello, Jr. of Lake Hiawatha, NJ. His sisters; Phyllis Parinello of Parsippany, NJ, Harriet Parinello of Santa Cruz, CA., his granddaughter; Taylor Shearstone of Succasunna,NJ, two grandsons Charles Joseph Parinello of Lake Hiawatha and Chase Parinello of Succasunna, NJ.
