Hackettstown, NJ Mr. Carmel “Carmen” V Fortunato, 84, died on September 17, 2020 at the House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown. He was born and raised in Montclair and lived in West Orange, Puerto Rico and Bloomfield before moving to Hackettstown 2 years ago. He was a retired machinist and tool and die maker. He retired 12 years ago from White Machine Company in Kenilworth, NJ. He was also an avid fisherman and spent many days fishing in the country and at the shore.

He is survived by his wife Marie (Russo) Fortunato of 65 years. He also leaves his son Michael A Sr. (and Camille) Fortunato of Succasunna, and 2 grandchildren; Christine (and Raymond) Tsipouras and Michael A Fortunato, Jr.

Family and friends may visit the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Sunday (September 20, 2020) from 2 – 5 (on a rotating basis). There will be a Funeral Service at 2:30 in the afternoon. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at StJude.org
