Byron “Jim” Peters

Roxbury Township, Mr. Byron “Jim” Peters, Jr., died on July 28, 2018, on his 79thbirthday, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. He was born in Dover and lived most all of his life in Succasunna, NJ. He worked for the Houdaille Construction Company in Kenvil, then as Sanitation Supervisor in Roxbury Township, and later as the Recycling Coordinator for Jefferson Township. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and an Exempt Fireman of Roxbury Fire Company #1. He loved woodworking and going to craft shows, and also loved photography, and was a big fan of NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Briggs) Peters of 54 years. Barbara wishes to thank his wonderful neighbors Bob and Mercy Davenport and John Sandstrom; your friendship and help was greatly appreciated. Thank you to Allen Hay and Andre Verge, his Masonic Brothers, for their help and friendship, and to Mike (his barber) and Joyce Colananni, you were amazing !
