Mt. Arlington, Mrs. Brenda C Eckert, 84, died on December 19, 2025 at the Mt. Arlington Senior Living Center. She was born in Dover and spent most of her life residing in the Roxbury & Mine Hill area.  She eventually retired to Sarasota, FL before returning to New Jersey 3 years ago. She worked at Picatinny Arsenal for 34 years and retired in 1997.  She enjoyed spending time with family, her beloved dog Skittles and getting together with friends.  Brenda loved to travel, play bingo and visit with her great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert E Eckert, Sr in 1996, her daughter Terry Eckert Hall in 2012, and by her grandson Alan M Fernicola, Jr in 2022. She is survived by her son Robert E Eckert, Jr, 3 grandchildren; Taryn Fernicola (and her partner Thomas), Kyle Eckert, and Todd Eckert. She also leaves her 4 great grandchildren; Carlina and Domenico Fernicola, and Tessa and Tyler “Dobby” Hohenleitner, her brother William Turoczy, and by her partner of 30 years Harry Shuback.

Friends may visit at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, 973-584-7264 on Friday, December 26th, from 4 – 7 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 27th, at 10 am, at the Funeral Home, followed by the interment at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
