Roxbury Township, Mrs. Betty Marie Bateson, 93, died on November 25, 2024 at the Excel Care Center in Dover. She was born in Kenvil, at home, and lived in Roxbury Township all of her life. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Roxbury Medical Group working for Dr. Kostelnik, in Succasunna. She was a 1950 graduate of Roxbury High School and early in her career she worked for Harry Chesler. She was a member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Fire Company #1, and also a member of the Roxbury Township Senior Citizens Club.

        She was predeceased by her husband Sidney Bateson in 2012, and is survived by her 4 children; Jacqueline Cutter of Wharton, Roger Hartley of Delaware, Robert Hartley of Hopatcong, and Deborah Morrison of Andover. She also leaves her grandchildren; Maria (and Jim) Russo, Malissa (and Gary) King, Kristin (and Peter) Hartley-Glassman, and Michelle (and John) Lozito, and by her great grandchildren; Ashley Russo, Anthony Russo, Gary King III, Nicholas King, Zachary Fowler, Kaylee Fowler, Caden Lozito, Carson Lozito, and Autumn Hartley, and by her 2 great great grandchildren.

       Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, N.J. (973-584-7264) on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 from 10 – 11 am. Her Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 am, followed by the interment at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
