Roxbury Township, Mrs. Barbara Elaine Smith, 86, died on December 2, 2015 at her home in Kenvil. Born in Morristown, she lived in Roxbury Township most of her life. She graduated from Netcong High School where she was voted best dancer in her class and was a member of the Port Morris Methodist Church. Barbara was a sought after bookkeeper and worked for many local businesses over the years including Clyde’s Other Place and Cliff’s Dairy Maid. She was also the photographer for the Star Journal Newspaper in the 1960’s. She was very active in the Girl Scouts, an avid gardener and an amateur gourmet cook.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Edward M Smith (of 48 years) in 1996 and is survived by her daughter Elaine (and Michael J) Stevenson of Morris Plains.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, (973-584-7264) (www.davishepplewhitefh.com) on Monday, from 4 – 6  pm, with her Prayer Service being held at 6 pm by the Rev. Gene Hamilton. The interment will be held on Tuesday at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to the Roxbury Township Fire Co #1 or to the Lakeland Animal Haven.
