Barbara A Palanchi

Roxbury Township, Barbara Ann (Woods) Palanchi, 87, died at home on January 13, 2019.  She was born and raised in Roxbury Township and has been a lifelong resident.  She was a school bus driver for Roxbury Board of Education, retiring after 23 years.   Previously she was a secretary at McKiernan & Terry Corporation in Dover.  Barbara was a lifetime member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Choir for more than 50 years and served on many committees in addition to being a volunteer in the community.  One of her favorite activities was making funnel cakes at Suckasunny Day and at the St. Therese carnival each year.    She had a love for Lake Hopatcong, The Windlass and the Miss Lotta.  She was a season ticket holder for The Paper Mill Playhouse always inviting a different friend to accompany her for each show.  Her greatest joy was attending the sporting events, band concerts and dance recitals of her cherished grandchildren.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Joseph M. Palanchi in 2004 and her sister Eileen Brown.  She is survived by her four children; Debbie (and Jerry) Williams of Succasunna, Lisa Palanchi (and Patty Cinelli) of Mt. Arlington, Joanne (and John) Page  of Succasunna, and Marc (and Kristin) Palanchi of Succasunna.  She also leaves her eight grandchildren; Jennifer (and Keith), Lindsey, Christopher, Daniel, Brandon, Reghan, Ben, and Joey, and two great grandchildren; Liam and Leila.  She is also survived by her brother, Stanley (and Carol) Woods of Emerson, NJ and many, many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ  973-584-7264  (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Monday, January 21 st, from 2 – 6 pm.  The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 22 nd, at the Succasunna United Methodist Church at 10 am, with the Interment to follow at the Stanhope Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Succasunna United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 91 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 07876.
