Roxbury Township,     Mrs. Augusta M Hicks, 92, died on May 17, 2011 at the Merry Heart Assisted Living Center in Succasunna. She was born in Morristown and was a lifelong resident of Roxbury Township. She was a postal worker at the Kenvil Post Office for more than 25 years and was the oldest member of the Succasunna First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Roxbury Township Senior Citizens Club, Order of the Eastern Star in Stanhope, and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles W in 1998 and is survived by her son Charles R (and his wife Carolann) Hicks of Coram, NY. She also leaves her 2 brothers; William J Bird of Mt. Olive Township and Charles F Bird of St. Louis, Missouri, and 3 grandchildren; Col. Kevin Hicks of PA, and Scott and Timothy Hicks of Long Island, NY.

Friends may visit the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, NJ (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com, on Wednesday from 4 – 6 pm. The service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Naughright Cemetery in Long Valley.
