Adalaide P Vanderbush

Roxbury Twp., Mrs. Adalaide P. Vanderbush, 90, died peacefully at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover on January 5, 2013. She was born in Dover, and spent most of her life in Roxbury Township. She was employed for many years as a Cafeteria Manager for the Roxbury Township Board of Education. She was a life member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church. She was active for many years with the United Methodist Women. She spent many hours as an advocate for those with Developmental Disabilities. She was an avid reader, and was conversant in many topics. Her father, Frederick Plumstead, was the first Chief of Police in Roxbury Township.

 She was predeceased by her husband Russell G. Vanderbush in 1995, her daughter Judith Ann Davis in 1976, and her sisters Madeline, Doris, Alice, and her brother Clayton. She is survived by 5 children; George (and Ineke) Vanderbush of Succasunna, Russell (and Nancy) Vanderbush of Kenvil, Mary Vanderbush of Leesburg Fl., Norman Vanderbush of Altoona Pa, and Marsha Vanderbush of Succasunna, 2 sisters; Thelma Stickle, and Carol Newman of PA,  9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.

 The visiting will be held on Tuesday, 10-11 am at the Succasunna United Methodist Church, 91 Main Street, with the Service at 11 am. The interment will follow at the Succasunna Methodist Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Succasunna United Methodist Church or the ARC of Morris County, P.O.
