Roxbury Township, Mr. Cornelius “Conor” Patrick Tully, Sr, 70, died on December 4, 2011 at his home in Succasunna, NJ. He was born in Borrisokane, County Tipperary, Ireland and came to the United States in 1962. He lived in Wallpack, NJ and Morristown before settling in Succasunna 39 years ago. He honorably served in the U S Army during the Viet Nam War, and was the co-owner and operator of Randolph Foreign Car Repair in Wharton, NJ for 36 years before retiring in 2006. He was a faithful and active parishioner of St. Therese R.C. Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Succasunna, and the Irish American Association of N.W. Jersey. He was an avid lover of outdoor sports, nature and bicycling and shared these interests with his grandchildren.
Mr. Tully is survived by his wife Mary C (Murphy) of 41 years, and by his 3 children; Conor (and Katie) Tully of Convent Station, Sean (and Crissy) Tully of Madison, and Timothy Tully of Succasunna. He also leaves his 4 brothers and sisters; Mary Hackett, Margaret Slattery, Thomas Tully, and Timothy Tully all of Ireland, and 5 loving grandchildren; Conor, Caroline, Jula, Sean, and Nena along with many dedicated nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Patrick Tully in 1999.
Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Wednesday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday 10am, at St. Therese R.C. Church, 155 Main St., Succasunna, NJ, with the interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
