Roxbury Township, Mr. Alex Lazorisak, Esq., 90, died on June 6, 2015 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville with his family by his side.  He was born and raised in Beaverdale, PA and lived in East Orange with his wife Rose before moving to Succasunna 57 years ago. He served in the US Marine Corps during both WWII and the Korean War, as a First Lieutenant, where he earned the Presidential Unit Citation, the Korean Service Medal and the UN Service Medal. In 1953, he earned his Bachelor of Law, Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University. Alex was admitted to the NJ Bar in 1954, to the 3^rd Circuit of Appeals in 1963, and to the US Supreme Court in 1966.  He was an Attorney at Law in Succasunna serving as Roxbury Township Attorney from 1962-1988.  Alex also served as Municipal Court Judge in Roxbury Township from 1961-1962, Mt. Arlington Borough from 1961-1988 and Rockaway Borough from 1979-1988.  He was a proud member of the US Marine Corps ‘The Chosin Few’ and a member of the Roxbury Township Rotary Club where he earned the Paul Harris Award. Additionally, Alex earned the Martindale-Hubbell BV Distinguished Rating® awarded to attorneys.  Alex also served on the Board of Trustees at Dover General Hospital and Medical Center, served as the Chairman of the Roxbury Citizens Resolution Dispute Committee, as well as served on the St. Therese Church Building Committee. Alex dedicated his life to his three most important passions: his loving family, the practice of law and his enduring commitment to the US Marine Corps.

Alex was predeceased by his parents Steven and Tressa (nee Durdan) Lazorisak, sisters Anna Vicic, Agnes Kuska, and Mary Honeymar, brothers George and Nicholas, and his faithful companion Nasha. He is survived by his loving wife Rose (Sracic) Lazorisak of 61 years, daughters Tressa (and James) Gladysz and Alesia Lee Lazorisak, son Alex J (and Susan) Lazorisak, grandsons James Alex Gladysz and Matthew James Gladysz, his caregiver Line Mabiala, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 3-5 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, 10:30 am at St. Therese R C Church, Main St, Succasunna, NJ, with the entombment to follow at the Locust Hill Mausoleum, Dover.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to The Rutgers University Foundation – IOVS (Advancement of Eyesight Research, health care and training for healthcare professionals) through Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home.
