Mr. Wayne N Berry Sr, 87, died on November 28, 2024, at the Merry Heart Nursing Home in Succasunna, surrounded by his family. He was born at home in Kenvil and lived in Roxbury Township all his life. He was a 1958 graduate of Roxbury High School and was a retired Maintenance Worker for Chester Township, after 35 years. Growing up, he was an outstanding athlete in sports, but particularly a stand-out in baseball, achieving minor league status, and nicknamed “Yogi”, after the All-Star.  He continued this passion by following high school and professional sports throughout his life. He was a former member of the Central Jersey Beagle Club and various Pigeon Clubs.  He loved being outdoors and was particularly adept in horticulture and landscape design; he was also a creative artist and enjoyed sketching and drawing in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen “Kathy” (Seitz) Berry of 56 years, and by his 3 children Wayne (and Maria) Berry, Jr, Raritan, Bonnie (and Joseph) Blaszak of Randolph, and Tracy (and fiancé Kyle Colgate) Berry of Hopatcong, and his 5 Grandchildren; Aaron, Evan, Samantha, Alexa, and Royce.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, N.J. (973-584-7264) on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, from 9 – 11 am. His Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 am, followed by the interment at the Succasunna Methodist Cemetery.
