Harvey “Jack” Harrington

Mt. Olive Township—Mr. Harvey John “Jack” Harrington, Jr., 84, passed away on October 22, 2024, at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family. Jack was born and raised in Staten Island, NY, before moving to Flanders 57 years ago where he continued to live with his granddaughter Jamie and her family.

Jack had a successful career in finance at various companies in New York City and New Jersey before retiring in 2012. A devoted sports fan, he held season tickets to the Jets and Giants, attended Super Bowls and All-Star Games, and enjoyed many Yankee games at Yankee Stadium. He also made frequent visits to the Boxing Hall of Fame. Jack cherished traveling to sporting events, often accompanied by friends, creating lasting memories at games across the country. His love for travel extended to family vacations, with Aruba and Hawaii being among his favorite destinations.

A proud alumnus of Wagner College and Seton Hall University, Jack was a member of Delta Nu and played college baseball. He continued his passion for sports by participating in Mount Olive Men’s Softball for many years.

Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eileen Marie (Jaques) Harrington, in 2015, as well as his sons, baby Robert Harrington (1966) and John Harvey “Jack” Harrington (2022). He is survived by his four daughters: Sharon Skidmore (and Richard Brideau) of Andover, Lori (and Scott) Fisher of Greensboro, N.C., Karen (and Levent) Bayrasli of Lopatcong, and Linda (and Clay) Coleman of Cazenovia, NY. He leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren: Jamie Skidmore, Jon Brideau, Stacy Barnes, Bryan Harrington, Leah Sturchio, Jake Bayrasli, Jenna Cooper, Emily Bayrasli, Cooper Coleman, Sadie Coleman, and Brody Coleman, along with 8 great-grandchildren: Holden Bostedo, Shawn Barnes, Owen Barnes, Maxwell Cooper, Charlotte Bayrasli, Liliana Bayrasli, Isabella Sturchio, and Kennedy Sturchio.

Friends are invited to visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM, and Saturday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM, with a Family Service at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
