Roxbury Township, Mr. Walter Rozyla, 92, died on May 13, 2020 at his home. He was born in Newark, NJ and grew up in Irvington, NJ. He lived in Tranquility, NJ before moving to Succasunna 51 years ago. He served in the U S ARMY as a corporal during the Korean War as a wirecom specialist and received metals for national defense, good conduct and occupation.  Prior to the Army he worked at Gould & Eberhardt as a no  setter. He was a retired postal worker (1988) from the Irvington Post Office branch #38 and later worked for the Macy’s Department Store and AT&T.  He was an active member of St. Therese R C Church where he served as an usher.  In addition, he volunteered at the Roxbury Social Services.

He was predeceased by his wife Valerie “Pat” (Moglia) Rozyla of 53 years. Survived by his sister Helen Hamberger of Basking Ridge.   He also leaves his 2 sons; Christopher (and Elizabeth Absalon ) of Succasunna and Michael (and Lynn) of Randolph, 3 grandchildren; Ashley, Brittany, and Robbie, and a great granddaughter Rayna Aurora, and very close friend Helen Scudder.

Arrangements are by the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com). A Funeral Liturgy Mass will be held at St. Therese R C Church at a later date. The interment was held at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
