Roxbury Township, Mrs. Shirley Holmes, 89, died peacefully on July 10, 2015 at her home in Berkshire Valley, with her family around her. She was born in Succasunna and was a lifelong resident of Roxbury Township. She was a Certified Nurse’s Aide for the Visiting Nurses Association in Morristown for 30 years, and member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dover.

 She was predeceased by her husband Harold Holmes in 1989 and is survived by her son Thomas Holmes of Wharton and daughter Lisa Ann Martin of Bailey, CO. She also leaves her 4 loving grandchildren; Kayla, Kristen, Scotty, and Ashley and 6 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Tuesday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, 11 am at the Funeral Home with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
