Samuel Vereshack

Chester Township, NJ. Mr. Samuel Vereshack, age 98, died on October 26, 2018 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park, NJ. He was born and raised in Smoke Run, PA and lived in Fords, NJ for many years before moving to Chester Township 41 years ago. He served in the U S Army during WW II and received the Purple Heart Medal, and four additional metals. He was a weapons expert and served as a Military Police officer. He was an active, 41 year member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna, NJ and enjoyed being a member of their Bald Eagles & Silver Foxes club. He was loved by his family and was a friend to everyone. His sense of adventure and love of the outdoors was evident in his everyday life.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Vershack in 1994, and is survived by his two daughters; Sharon (and Victor) Ciampa of Chester Township and Joyce Hair of Sunrise, FL. He also leaves his three grandsons; David (and Joanna) Ciampa of Aberdeen, NJ, Brian (and Kimberly) Ciampa of Stanhope, NJ and Jarret (and Melinda) Hair of Davie, FL, and four great grandchildren; Anthony Ciampa, Daniella Ciampa, Connor Ciampa, and Nathan Ciampa.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 1st at 11 am, at  Redeemer Church in Succasunna, with the interment to follow on Friday, November 2 at the Brigadier General Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
