Roger Yutzler

Roger Yutzler, age 90, of Chester Township passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Merry Heart Nursing Home in Succasunna, NJ.  Roger was born and raised in Rome, NY to Fred and Claribel (Cheney) Yutzler.  He was in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948, serving most of that time with the 24th Infantry Division in Kokura, Kyushu, Japan.  He was also a Business Administration graduate of Clarkson College of Technology (now Clarkson University) in Potsdam, NY.  Several years later, he married Helen Palmer (formerly of Carthage, NY) in October 1960.  He began his 29 year career as a purchasing agent with Allied Chemical Corp (now Honeywell) in Solvay, NY and was then transferred to Morristown, NJ in 1966.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Succasunna, NJ and enjoyed spending time with his family, skiing, golf, cars and trains.

He is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Barbara (of Somerset, NJ), son John (of Dillon, CO), sister Aurie (of Rome, NY), and several nieces, nephews & grand-nieces/nephews.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Saturday from 10 – 11:30 am, with the Funeral Service at 11:30 am at the Funeral Home. The burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lee Center, NY, at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger’s memory can be made to any of the following organizations:  The First Presbyterian Church in Succasunna, NJ; Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY; or to the Veteran’s Association of America.
