Roxbury Township, Mr. Robert William Grodeska, Sr, 86, died on August 8, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center.
He was born on December 17th, 1937, in Long Branch, New Jersey to John and Martha (Lehman) Grodeska. With his brothers Jack and Ray, “Robbie” loved to fish, race boats, and roam all over the Jersey shore. He was a graduate of Leonardo High School, then served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958, with two years at sea.
Upon returning home, he began working in the wastewater field, ending his career as Facilities Manager for the Musconetcong Sewerage Authority. He was recognized with the Four Tops Award for possessing the top four water supply and wastewater licenses in New Jersey.
Bob met his wife Virginia “Ginny” Dufford through their ski club. Ginny was attracted to Bob’s irreverent humor and adventurous spirit. They married in 1971 and lived in Vermont before moving back to Ginny’s hometown of Succasunna to build the home where they raised their three children. Later in his life, Bob became a model airplane enthusiast who loved to build and fly his planes.
He is survived by his wife Virginia (Dufford) Grodeska of 53 years, and by his children; Lawrence (and Kristel) Grodeska of California, Donna Hendrickson of Bridgewater, New Jersey, and Robert “Bill” (and Erin) Grodeska, Jr of Colorado. He also leaves his 5 grandchildren; Drew and Sadie Hendrickson, and Edie, Otis, and Griffin Grodeska.

davishepplewhitefh.com) on Saturday (August 10th), from 1 – 3 pm. A service will take place at 2 pm, with Military Honors. Immediately following, the family would like to invite all to a repast in the fellowship hall of the Succasunna First Presbyterian Church, located directly across the street.
