Roxbury Township, Mr. Robert (Bob) Rangvald Olsen, 90, passed away peacefully at his home on July 16, 2026. Robert was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Succasunna, New Jersey 77 years ago. He served in The U.S. Army National Guard and later worked for the MEPCO Company in Morristown, New Jersey as a production manager. He was a founding member and helped build the Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church in Succasunna. Robert grew in his faith and had a lifelong love for Jesus. The verse that he always looked to was Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” He received his commercial pilot’s license as a young adult and was an active member in numerous airplane flying clubs. His love for flying continued throughout his life, building and flying remote controlled airplanes. His hobbies also included playing guitar and woodworking.

He is survived by his beloved wife Julie Margaret (Ribe) Olsen of 65 years and by his two sons, Gary (wife Lisa), Ronald (wife Marie) and daughter Elaine, and four cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Taylor and Ty.

Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Davis & Heppelwhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street in Succasunna, New Jersey. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Hillside Church in Succasunna, followed by the interment at the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in East Hanover.
