Roxbury Township, Mrs. Rita C Jones, 85, died on September 3, 2015 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. She was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and lived in Denville most of her life before moving to Ledgewood 16 years ago. She was a 1948 graduate of the Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx and immediately after graduation became a court stenographer in Bronx County, NY. She later worked for 25 years for the Daily Record Newspaper as a circulation manager in Parsippany. She was an avid Yankees fan and loved being with her family and, dancing with her dear friend Jerry Mangano. She also was a member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna.

She was predeceased by her husband Ronald C Jones in 1989 and by her son Russell C Jones in 2000. She is survived by 4 children; Ronald C (and Carol) Jones, Raymond C (and Monica) Jones, Rachelle C Jones, and Richard C (and Karen) Jones, 9 grandchildren; Adam, Amanda, Andrew, Ashley, Ross, Emily, Katherine, Madison, and Emily, a great granddaughter Luna, and was expecting another great grandchild in October.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday from 6 – 8 pm.  The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 10 am at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
