Roxbury Township, Reverend Robert K. Hooper entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

A native of Boonton, New Jersey, Father Hooper earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Classical Languages, as well as a Masters Degree of Divinity from The Catholic University of America, Washington DC. In addition, Fr. Hooper attended Rutgers University and passed the bar exam in 1978.

Father Hooper was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on May 2, 1970. For forty-seven years he faithfully served the People of God at Pope Paul VI High School, Clifton, New Jersey; Saint Clare Church, Clifton; Saint Paul Church, Clifton; and Saint Therese Church, Succasunna, New Jersey.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Margaret.

Visitation for Father Hooper will be held at Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church, 151 Main Street, Succasunna, on Monday, October 16, 2017, from 3:00-7:00pm. Evening prayer will be offered at 7:00pm, following visitation. The mass of Resurrection will occur on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 10:00am. Interternment will be private.
