Pauletta “Penny” Canfield was called to heaven on June 2, 2026, at her home in Floral City, FL. with her family at her side. Pauletta was born on October 15, 1941, to Reverent Millard and Pauline Wetzel in Clearfield, PA. She was raised with her two younger sisters, Kathy Dodge and Marsha Kott and brother Millard Wetzel, Jr in Ledgewood, NJ.

Pauletta met her future husband Clyde “Butch” Canfield at the First Baptist Church of Ledgewood, NJ at the age of 15, where her father preached. In 1959, she graduated from Roxbury High school and continued on with a full scholarship to study at Beth Israel School of Nursing with an RN degree in 1962. Pauletta then married Butch in 1962 at the Ledgewood Baptist Church by her Father, Reverent Wetzel.

Their first child Clyde Junior was born in August of ’63. Then Pauletta “Little Letta” was born two years later. Pauletta retired from Hercules explosives facility in 1999, soon moved to Inwood, WV and later to Floral City, FL to be closer to her family. Pauletta is predeceased by her parents and sister Kathy. Pauletta is survived by Butch, Junior, Letta, and grandchildren.

A Viewing will take place at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home in Succasunna, New Jersey on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Ledgewood in Ledgewood, NJ. Burial will follow the service at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery in Succasunna, NJ.
