Maria Christine Principal Stigliano lost her courageous battle to pancreatic cancer on July 27, 2012. She was 65.  Born January 21, 1947 in Morristown, NJ to Thomas and Julia Principal (both deceased), Maria graduated from Morristown High School before attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in NY.  She married Bruce Henry Cavnor (deceased) and is survived by four children, Bruce and Christopher (Seattle, WA), Julie Ann (Baltimore, MD) and Thomas (Hamden, CT), four grandchildren, and her husband Victor Arthur Stigliano. She resided in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Maria will be remembered for her loving smile, generous spirit as a mother, wife and friend, and a gregarious laughter that melted hearts.  Maria had a gifted hand in illustration and painting, and an equally gifted hand in bettering the community through her participation in the Parent Teacher Association and the Cultural Arts Committee in the Morristown School District, introducing young minds to art, music and dance.  As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the Relief Society, she participated in church activities and charity both in Ledgewood, NJ and Murrells Inlet, SC.

Our family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins and Gilchrist Hospice in Baltimore, MD, as well as our friends for their loving care of Maria and support of the family.

There will be a viewing on Monday, July 30^th from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home in Succasunna, NJ.
