Leland “Lee” Evans

Roxbury Township, Mr. Leland “Lee” T Evans, 88, died on January 18, 2014 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. He was born and raised in Scranton, PA and lived in Kenvil before moving to Ledgewood 53 years ago. He served in the U S Navy during WW II, and was part of an extensive line of Railroaders. He worked for the Erie-Lackawana R R for 43 years, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Division 171 in Hoboken and a member of the Ever-Young Senior Citizens Club in Roxbury Township.

He was predeceased by his wife Virginia M in 2012 and is survived by his 3 sons; Leland (and Diann) Evans, Jr of Mine Hill, Brian Evans of Milford, PA, and Bruce Evans of Freedon Township, 4 grandchildren; Michael Evans, Jessica (and Frank) Cannon, Sean Evans, and Britton Evans, and great grandson Collin Cannon.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 10 am, at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Stanhope Union Cemetery.
