Roxbury Township, Mr. John P Bongiorno, 94, died on January 29, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was born in Palermo, Italy and lived in Rockaway Township before moving to Succasunna 53 years ago. He served in the U S Army during WW II and was a retired quality control inspector at M & M Mars Co in Hackettstown. He was also a member of the Roxbury Township Senior Citizens Club.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth R Bongiorno, of 66 years, in 2006, son Salvatore Bongiorno in 2007, and by his grandson Thomas Stark in 1988. He is survived by his 3 children; Diana (and Jerry) Stark of Ledgewood, Patricia Hoffman of Sussex, and John Bongiorno of Whiting, daughter-in-law Patricia Bongiorno of Whiting, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday from 2-5 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 10 am, at the funeral home, with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
