Roxbury Township, Mr. John “Jack” A O’Connell, 83, died on March 9, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. He was born in Dover and a life long resident of Succasunna. He was a 1950 graduate of Roxbury High School and then served in the US Army during the Korean War. He began working at Picatinny Arsenal, the Valley Pharmacy and then bought Jack’s Joy Deli in 2000.

He is survived by his wife Joy O’Connell of 55 years, son James L (Jackie) O’Connell of Hopatcong, and daughters; Faith Helen O’Connell of PA, and Deborah L O’Connell of Byram. He also leaves his sister Sherry Faiella of Netcong, 6 grandchildren; Amanda, John, Stephanie, James, Nicholas, and Jessica, 5 great grandchildren; Gabriella, Kayleigh, John Richard, Luke, and Madelyn Grace, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Sunday from 4 – 7 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, 1 pm, at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
